Civic missing and backfiring
97 Civic w/1.6 liter. Car is next to undrivable at lower RPM. But above 4k at WOT runs like it always did. Put the scanner on it. Got a bunch of misfire codes and a lean code. P0301 P0302 P0304 P1300 P1399 and P0174(I think. Was def code for a lean condition.)
Here is the thing. The ECM is dumping enough fuel that it smokes like mad at idle. So lean is NOT the problem. O2 sensor is a month or two old. New plugs. Wires are new. TPS voltage is passable. Any one have any ideas?

just my 2 cent but possibly distributor or spark leads? had a similar problem with mine misfiring and it was no.1 lead was corroded / broken...
doesnt really explain the smoke at idle but hey, every little helps.

The smoking is to much fuel. Can't mistake the smell. I more convinced its a fueling problem as opposed to spark. I usually play with V8 stuff. Just got the Civic for a work car. Hoping somebody here knows something I don't.
