Civic/Integra Trailing Arm
I just want to clarify something. I have read that the rear trailing arm is indentical between most all civics and integras, except for the 90-93 integras which have a larger bushing.
Is this true? Even for those with drum brakes. I was under the impression that the only reason they all have different part numbers is because they are sold with the spindles, and the spindles are what actualy make a difference on all the different models.
Also, if I were to replace say my ITR rear trailing arm with that off of a Civic VX, where would I get the apropriate tool to get the spindles off. I looked at the bolts and it is a big star type of bolt.

I do know the star tool is a TORX brand fitting/bolt head... the size is even referred to in a post on rear brake swaps in the EG forum somewhere if you need it. The TORX are used all over domestics and TORX ratchet bits can be found at Sears and such.
I'm not sure on the swapability of the rear trailing arm...
I feel good saying you can swap your ITR arm for aVX arm but I do not know if any of the gemoetry is different as people usualy mention swapping over the compensator and locator arms with the trailing arm if they do intend to swap the trailing arm.

I will probably be swapping over the toe adjuster (compensator arm?) with it too.
I did a 5 lug conversion on my integra, and it has some bad toe in with the compensator arm all the way to the left of the slot (this is on the drivers side, so the left of the adjustment slot would be farthest to the outside of the car). I think something may be bent.

VX to R has a slightly different rear track, around a 1/4". Think the torx are a T45. General rule of thumb is to stay with what you have, e.g. Type R, use a Type R trailing arm. Latest rumor going round is that the JDM R rear arms have a slightly wider track than the US spec ones.
Click on my trailing arm link, pics of it without spindle. There is a 32mm nut in the center and 4 T45 torx that hold it on. All of the civic/integra trailing arms use this same bolt pattern setup so the spindles are interchangeable between all models.
