Default Checking v2v clearance

Been doing alot of research on how to check v2v clearances. I cannot find anything saying what the closest the two valves should ever get to each other. Does anyone have a number they go by? I found on an old v8 forum that the closezt they recomend is 0.050". Does that sound reasonable?
The reason I am looking for this is I'm going with a large cam and have 0.5mm oversized valves and want to make sure there is no contact before installing everything.

.050 is a very reasonable, safe number. You need to be concerned with your p2v clearance too. Since you have oversized valves you need to check the clearance w.r.t. The piston reliefs. In your case the clay is the best method.

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on claying the engine before installing it, but will for sure now.
