Cheap go fast mods...what do you have
i just bought another GSR to start over. so far i've done all the required maintainance and tune up etc to bring the car to mod-ready status. Compression came in at 235, 230, 235, 240...woohoo!
just did the home depot icebox and the car feels awesome.
what other cheap/diy mods (under 200) have you guys done to your motor?
keep in mind i want to keep the stock exhaust manifold and cams since i'll be boosting in the near future.
thanks

Yea, get a good suspension setup. Polyurethane bushings all around, strut bars, and aftermarket sway bars. Get some bigger rotors/calipers, steel brake lines, and a good set of "H" rated tires. After all of that you should be able to handle your car when it's boosted.
the home depot icebox is making your own copy of the Comptech Icebox from parts at home depot, at a fraction of the price
as far as your go cheap mods, i dont know if all cheap mods apply, or if you are only looking for fast ones, but some that are cheap ones is
integra type r trunk brace
Brake Master Cylinder Brace
i think weight removal of things you dont need can help you pick up some speed

I got the ducting from Home depot for 3.99, I routed it to my front air dam and the air oges straight in, then to the filter, wether it works or not I don't know, I assume so as direct cold air being forced in? I then made my own Cold air box around the filter from insulation, and painted enamel black, looks good, pics later.

i believe there's the black pcv pipings at HD and there's the white pipings. I went with the white ones since it was lighter & cheaper, as well as the connectors. I desiged the pipings so that it is also a ram-air from the front opening, short of like that red/blue integra, just with piping and not an air duct. It is definitely independent from the heat in the engine bay. Suspension wise i've already done the R rear sway bar and the R strut brace. Anyone else? Should be alot of mods available for under $200 each mods right? thanks guys for participating.

not many.
well you can take out ur power steering(ill never go back, feel the road), ur ac( doesnt really get that hot 2 me) and crusise control( dont cruise). for 200$ u can get cam gears and a fuel preasure regulator( if tuned u can get some good hp)
-fuel presure regulators like 60$ B&M
-cam gears ive seen 50-200$ check recycler
- reprogrammed ecu 150-200 very good hp gains, I can refer you to a place if you live in LA, or close to it.
-bars, sway bars around 200 have seen a set of eibachs go for 100$ on the recycler
-strut bars, check ebay they have like package deals, there off brand but they get the job done
ummm damn 200 isnt alot hehe

that's how science works, you have a theory until there's one case which proves it wrong
as for the mods, i was thinking $200 for each mod, that's not really cheap but more on the less expensive side. I could always start building up my motor for boost-friendly status.
where in LA do you have the hook-ups on ecu re-programming?
thanks
yeah but one case proved to above statement false, now back to the drawing board

unless your cracking 13's with your cheap mods, you arent fast.
and your not gonna get there with all the **** in home depot.
so your car is still slow and reliable.
how much weight will u actually save with takin out cruise control? cuz i never use that either.
if your car is a daily driver, you'll disable to ability to save gas w/o cruise control
