Default Change 5th gear in a JDM Gearbox?

I have tried to search for an answer to this question but I havenīt found any answer.. The thing is that I have an JDM ITR gearbox on itīs way home to me here in Sweden from Hong Kong.
The thing is that I have an EuroCivic today with the B18C1, and my 5th gear revs at 3800 at 110km/h which is the max speed limit on our freeways.
When I have installed the S80 the RPM will be about 4200-4300 at 110km/h

Itīs pretty tireing to listen to that sound when you travel a bigger distance.
Not to mention the fuelconsumption when the fuelprice today is at approx $5.50 per gallon.

So the question is if there is any Honda stock 5:th gear from any model, that will lower the RPMs to about 2500-3000 at 110km/h, and fits straight into an S80 box?
Or is there any aftermarket products that will do that?
Is there anyone here who have done it?

Appriciates all info, tips, ideas, chritisism

Its really not the 5th gear. Its the final drive ratio. If you swap the 5th gear, you may lower the rpm, but not to where you want it.

any hydro b-series 5th gear will swap in... (as will any other gears in the tranny) try using a 5th gear from the ls tranny... thats the longest and it will drop down the rpm's... the gears from the cable tranny's might work as well... iv just never tried so i dont want to say it will work

A Prelude 1997-01 or europeen Accord with H22, 5th gear will also fit in your new jdm b18c5 tranny but I dont know the ratio of that gear.It would be easyer for you to find one.

Looks like I can get hold of an LS gear from Hong Kong for free!

But what is the ratio of it? Compared with the ratio in the JDM box?
Anyone know?
Have heard that the revs should drop around 900 rpmīs??
Anyone who can comfirm that?

I have a jdm type-r tranny in my hatch and I recently re-built it with the LS 5th gear...
I had the same problem you did...Highway driving at 70mph,id turn like 4500rpms.
Very annoying and gas mileage sucked.
With the LS 5th gear,I turn about 3600 so yeah about a 1k drop in rpms...
Dont bother changing your final drive...Too much trouble and thats what makes the JDM type-r tranny special to begin with...the 4.78 FDand the LSD
Youll need the 5th gear on the mainshaft and the 5th gear on the countershaft...
Total cost me about $150...
Good luck!
