Default car caught on fire

so i had an EJ6, with a b18b turbo, was running a 50 trim. had open downpipe, the fuel i was running was an FMU and a 255 fuel pump, everything was fine, there was a small oil leak coming outta the oil feed line at the turbo, i had just filled my tank up and was driving on the hwy at 55mph and my feet were on fire, i pulled over and the fire was under the car at the floor board and it wasnt in the engine bay, the motor didnt blow or anything, but eventually the fire got up into the engine bay and i couldnt pop the hood cause the hood latch was broken, so i lost the car. anyone have any idea how this coulda happened?

Just a guess. I hate where they mounted the fuel filters. I replaced mine and started it up. Thank G I didn't just go for a drive. The damn filter was leaking from the crimp seal around the filter and dripping down, right on the header.

Might have been a fuel line that goes under the car. Might have kinked it when the motor was put in. Could be a fuel inj seal also.

Sorry to hear, I'm afraid of fire.

Sorry to hear about that, I'm thinking, and this is a guess as well, if you had a small oil leak, some may have dripped down and just like when it leaks from the oil pan, gets pushed/blown back underneath the car, that combined with rubbery bushings for the shifter and general plastic like sheilding, I'm assuming it could have melted into an unholy mess and caught on fire.

I'm thinking the fuel lines from the FMU were probably dripping down the firewall and vaporized gas caught fire maybe from the exhaust. Just a guess, but the FMU doesn't help with all that extra fuel pressure in boost (which is a LOT of pressure).
