Cant get tranny casing back on?????
on top of the main shaft there is a washer that has a tab sticking off to the side of it. that tab has to locate into a recess thats built into the inside of the case. Make sure these are lined up before you put the case on.
Then make sure that when youre walking the case down the shift fork rods are going into their appropriate places. Gently shifting the trans while putting on the case can sometimes help here.
lastly make sure thesnap ring is opened up enough to get the case to fully come closed before torquing anything down

I heated the casing slightly with a space heater to let the differential ball bearing enter the casing more easily. There is much to align in this case. I assume that you have it by now.
Make sure that you test all of the gears and rotate the input shaft before installing the transmission into the car.

Sometimes the shift forks don't find the holes on the gear housing. Playing around with the shift rod can sometimes help.
