Ca + smog + B16 = ???
I might buy this CRX with a b16 in it, and im going to try and get it BAR legalized. Heres its current setup.
JDM A1 block and an A2 head
jdm B16 ecu right now but im not sure if its OBD1 or OBD0.
JDM intake manifold
DC header, and im not sure if the header is CARB legal or not.
SO form all that Ive learned about CA smog so far it seems like i would have to get it up to specs of a Del Sol B16A3 motor.
So how much work am i looking at to get smog legal? thanks

They only care about the motor being same year as your car or newer, they determine that by the stamp on the head, since the A2 came from 99-00 USDM civics, it's ok.
They will also look for all emission related equipment from the A2 motor: Catalytic converter, Charcoal canister, PCV, black box under IM, no EGR, no AIR.
Wires have to be soldered, no MacGyver splicing allowed.
ALL DC headers have the CARB legal plate welded onto the header so no problem there.

So im going to have to get it OBD1 no matter what huh?
Since the head is an A2 head, can i still use the intake manifold, ecu, and all that from a B16A3 or will i have to get everything from the new B16A2 in the Civic Si's, and arent the new B16A2's OBD2?
I think the car is OBD0 right now, so is it ok if i use one of those OBD0-OBD1 jumper harnesses? or does a lot of stuff have to be rewired, i ohnestly dont know **** about wiring so this concerns me the most. thanks
