Default Brake tests from the helm

My brake pedal is somewhat mushy and does not seem to have a "hard" point when the car is running. I did all the tests the helm recommends such as pushing the pedal with the car off and then turning it on and all that, and everything seems normal accoring to the manual, except that while im driving the pedal is mushy, which the manual does not specifically mention. The pedal is very hard when the engine is off.

The rear brake pads are down to literally nothing. Can this be the problem with the mushy pedal? I ask because an untrustworthy mechanic once told me that if my brake pads in the rear are extremely low, then fluid would leak and the pedal would get mushy. I have noticed the fluid level drop to min over the course of a month, but recenly there has been no loss.

I don't think so, it just sounds to me like you have gone too long without addressing your brakes.

Check the fluid in your MC. Mine did the same thing for a while and I had a bad MC.

Mine did that when I had some air in the lines. Bleed them again.

I bled my brakes untill I thought all the bubbles were gone. But what I think happens is you get some bubbles that don't come out untill AFTER you get a whole bunch of clear fluid first. Bleed at least a pint from each rear wheel. Also try rapping on the calipers with a piece of wood to dislodge any bubbles stuck to the walls.
