Default Brake pad question

hey guys im an employee at advance auto parts and as most of you know i sell tons of brake products... anyways ive always been interested in ceramic pads... and its time to replace my brake rotors and pads... i dont know too much about ceramic besides they are supposed to grab a little harder and there is less dust than normal semi metallic pads... what other benefits/downsides do these type of pads offer... the brand i ended up purchasing were by a company called friction master... has anyone heard of them? how good of a reputation do they have? thanks a lot guys

Ceramic pads usually have a higher coefficient of friction and can tolerate a higher temperature before fading. They're usually pretty nice to rotors and have a pretty decent lifespan. They also usually cost a little more, squeal a bit and dust like a tire fire. I don't know where you heard less dust, but take it from someone with white wheels and ceramic pads, they dust "a bit". But if you can put up with these minor annoyances, you will be treated to some of the best brakes availible. I <3 my Carbotechs.
