The same problem happen to me. I did my brakes and didn't notice the MC going low when bleeding. Not sure if it went empty, but when I brake the pedal basically sinks all the way to the floor. And when bleeding at the calipers, no air comes out. How exactly do you bench bleed the MC? Does it require removing the MC from the car? If so, is there a way to do it in the car? Thanks

I've let the reservoir go empty, didn't bench-bleed, simply took longer to get all the air out. It seems like you get NO air for a long while in the back, then finally you get a few bubbles out. I think I used 2 quarts of fluid (total) that time.

You should be able to bench-bleed in the car. Disconnect the brake lines from the MC. Install tubes or brake lines that loop upwards & pour back into the reservoir. Pump the brake pedal like that for a while until there's no more air in the MC. Then reconnect the real brake lines & bleed the calipers.

back from the dead but the same happened to me too. so i tried to bleed the brakes until i get all the fluid out. i think i went through 5-6 master cylinder refills and i still didnt get any air out of the rear lines. do i need to go longer then that?
