My battery light came on just after I got on the highway, then when I parked, I let it idle for a few minutes and it went off. I left a few hours later and after driving a while on city streets I got on the highway and the light came on again. I noticed it idled at 1000 instead of 750 and the temp gauge was alittle lower than normal. I haven't had any trouble starting, I have no idea what this is.

Thanks, that crossed my mind, but didn't give it much thought. Those aren't the words I would like to here, but better than getting stranded.

 

yup, seems like the Alternator is going out. Is the alternator the original one that came in your g2 ? How many miles ?

 

Not sure if it's the original, but I have 159,xxx on it.

 

..humm, start saving $$$ and please try to stay away from rebuilt units. I have a rebuilt one and it sucks

 

I put it in earlier today. If I ever have to do it again, I might just take it to the shop. I had more trouble getting it out of the car than I think it was worth.
