Bad cooling fan relay?
Ok, think I've got a bad cooling fan relay. I washed my engine bay earlier today. Car was cool, I put a bag over the intake and sealed it off with tape. After I washed it and let it dry, I took it for a drive. I stopped at a park and ride to check some other stuff, and let the car idle, and it overheated...
heard a PSHHHH sound (all the coolant spraying out on the ground), and got a puff of white smoke from the tail pipe, so I shut the car down.
I let it cool off, then hot-footed it home, avoiding stop lights and just generally driving like a madman who doesn't want a blown headgasket. I started troubleshooting. I can make the fan turn on by jumping it to the battery, and the cooling fan fuse underneath the dash on the fuse panel is good. I checked the thermosensor on the block near the thermostat, and I can't get the fan to turn on by jumping the plug here, which is why I think it's a bad fan relay.
However, I can't seem the FIND the fan relay itself. Does anyone know where it's located on a 1995 Civic EX Coupe? My Chiltons service manual is very vague about it's location... something like "The cooling fan relay is located in the right front of the engine bay". I can't for the life of me seem to find it so I can test it... Anybody got any clues?

Ok... sounds good, there's three under there. Anybody have a diagram for that underhood fuse box? It appears mine USED to have a sticker on the cover with the locations, but it no longer does, and my Chiltons service manual (piece of ****, don't ever buy a Chiltons manual) has no diagram for my year (95 civic EX Coupe).
Hey man I just had this same problem when I installed the blower on my 2000 si. During the ordeal I found out that if the radiator does not have enough water in it the fan won't come on. To check if your relay is good, take the top off and put a little piece of paper into the gap of the relay, the fan should come on. Hope this helps.
