B20 intake valve reliefs. How smooth?
As the title, Im grinding out the B20 intake valve reliefs for a B16 head.
How smooth do the grinds need to be, or doesnt it matter as long as the valve will clear?
It's nothing like the stock finished reliefs at the moment :D

Why tool did you use?
My electric dremel clone is doing a fantastic job, just finding the right bit for the finish I guess.
Still if no-one is going to see it, the neatness doesnt bother me as long as the engine doesnt mind.
ANyone else know if it matters?

Well, I used a dremel tool with various bits in stages to get my end result.
1) ball shaped metal cutter
-I would remove the metal with this tool, the downside... leaves a rough surface
2) hard stone-like cone shaped grinding stone
-Not sure what its made of, but it looks to be a grinding type of stone... helped smooth out the rough finish.
3) soft stone disc
-Used to take out all the texture left, makes a very smooth finish, also used to round the sharp edges, emulating factory honda piston
4) metal wire brush
-Turns it into a mirror like surface
5) soft brissle brush
-Cleans up any imperfections left, smooth as glass w/ no imperfections
YES it took me forever
YES it was probably overkill
*shrug* it took me 2 years to save up enough $ for that motor, I didnt mind taking my time at all.
