Default B17A1 rods and pistons on a B16A1 crank?

The rod length on B17s is 131.87mm and for B16s is 134.00mm. The stroke is 81.4mm for B17 and 77.00mm for B16's. I know the stroke comes from the crank, so what I'm wondering is what would happen if you tossed some B17 rods and pistons onto a B16 crank? Displacement? Compression?

Thanks,
-Steve

Steve,

You won't increase displacement nor will you increase the static compression ratio.

The pistons will not reach the top of the deck and will dramatically lower your CR.

How about this...put a B17 crank and rods into a B16 block and you have a 1.7l displacement with a B16 block casing. Just a thought...

I'm not the one doing this. I'm actually using the B17 crank in my all motor B20 project. I'm just figuring if I can sell the rods and pistons with the block and get a little more $$$ for them.

Thanks though.

it will decrease displacement, R/S, and compression. If you zero out the block deck, raise the compression back to stock, it would work, but it wont be very good.
