Default B17a cams vs. B18c1 cams...

Ok, I just bought some GSR cams last night from a guy with a 95 GSR. He said the cams came straight out of his car. I looked at these two pics to make sure I could identify the cam. I went ahead and bought them since they were very cheap. I would prefer to have the B18C cams(though I am not sure if there is a difference) over the B17a cams. Here are the widely used(on this site) pics I went by:

Here are the ones I bought:

Ok, I know it looks obvious that they are the B17a from comparing those pics. But, I found this link this morning on H-T about this guys cams he pulled out of his 98 GSR:

There were a few other threads that indicated that 94+ cams looked like the ones I bought. Though, I am still not 100% if these cams are B18C1 or B17a cams. Can anybody clearly define the two cams.

Also, is there any difference at all as far as the specs of these to cams besides the markings? I have seen one site post the specs of the 1st gen B16a, B18C1, and B17a as having the EXACT same specs. That doesn't sound right to me because I have also thought the 1st gen B16 cams to be the weakest in cam profile.

Thanks

I beleive the B17A cams are the same as the B16A cams. They both use the PR3 head. The B18C1 cams should be different considering the B18C1 uses the P72 head.

Yes, those are 96+ GSR cams. I pulled a few sets out of GSR heads and they were identical. Measure the lobes and compare them to GSR specs if you are still weary.
