I have a b16b that I am getting rebuilt at the moment(custom crower crank/rods and ERE pistons). And I am trying to sell these things(b16b crank/rods/pistons) if it is worth it. Do you know anyone that has used the b16b crank to destroke b18-b20's? I know that the b16b and the b18'/20's are the same deck height. Just curious to see if anyone has used this setup and made good power. I am wondering what the pros and cons would be for this setup. Or if it is worth it I might just keep it and throw it into a ls block or something along those lines for a street motor. Let me know what you think. TIA.
i think it would be
idea..but thats just me.
why? because you would destroke it soo much that it would be practicly strokless! (not literally) sure you would have a good r/s ratio but if you were to put it in a B18a/b B20 then youd lose the point of it (the larger stroke)! sure you can rev it up the ying-yang but the sleeves of the B20 would probably crack soon after a few times in the 9000rpm range..i dont think it would be worth it.
Hello everyone, i just got back from Florida! it was fun...

Thats what I was thinking also. But I think that the reliability would be the factor. But then again I never drive on motors for more then 10,000 miles. Thanks.
