just bought a 92 hatch dx with a b16a2 car runs great has a chipped p30 only thing when it hits vtec it hesitates for like 3-5 seconds after hitting vtec then starts to pull hard after till redline ......what could it be

 

could be dizzy or plug wires?

 

my guess its a universal chipped ecu, like the ones found on ebay and such. those ecu's are chipped to run a motor they probably didnt even dyno and then mass produced, every motor reacts differently to a single ecu tune program. when vtec engages they tend to dump more fuel than necessary and run ridiculously rich conditions causing it to fell held back until it clears out seconds after then runs great to redline. my suggestions is that if it is one of them ecu's take it off, sell it if u can and get a real program to tune your setup and take it to a professional. example: my friends stock h22 made 350whp and 268wtq, if i use his s300 to run my motor with the same setup it wont run the same, why, cuz each motor reacts differently to one another..hope it helps

 

yeah get a good ecu.. those stupid chips suck
