B16 Tranny Woes
Ok, so, I sold my 92 Si to a buddy of mine. After I sold it, he started having tranny issues. I noticed some slipping in the tranny before it was in its accident...so I actually had a new ACT clutch and pressure plate that I was going to drop into it, but then of course I was in the accident.
As of right now, the tranny is just...well...not doing its thing. At high rpms its hard to get in and out of gear. More with 5th gear than the others...but the others still arent right. And the BIG issues is that it doesnt go into reverse. You know when you row through the gear, and you try and go into reverse, but it locks out so that you cant? It feels like that all the time. You just can not get it into reverse. This is true BOTH with the engine on, AND off. So without anything spinning in the motor or tranny, you still cant get it into reverse.
Whats been done so far? The new clutch and pressure plate it still not in. The fluid was drained, and replaced with new Honda MTF. The linkage was looked over, and thats still good. It still doesnt go into reverse, and still is having issues shifting.
Is this tranny just shot? Im thinking the new clutch wont change anything because it doesnt even work when the car is off.
Any ideas? TIA
