Default Auto Tranny Acting up

My exgirlfriend has 1998 civic ex. and i mean its in perfect condition, no hard driving, nothing done to the motor, just bigger wheels....i mean i dont ever think she has floored the car, anyways, a couple weeks ago her Auto tranny started acting up, I dont know much about auto trannys except they have solenoids and ****. Her car shifts really hard....like jerks you bad....well it did, she has an extended warranty and honda replace some solenoid but i didnt talk to honda, her dad took it in so i dont know which, but anyways, she says its better then it was, but i drove it today, and it still shifts hard, and sometimes hesitates to downshift, does anyone know whats up with this? what solenoids control the tranny? or does anyone have a link to somewhere I can do some research, cuz its pretty shitty that the transmission only has 36,000 miles and i mean, the car has been babied more than any car ive ever seen. Thanks

I have a 98 honda civic ex and my auto tranny is acting up as well....almost feels like its slipping...I really would like to figure out what the problem is...my car only has 30,000 miles on it, I dont beat the crap out of the car, I'm clueless to why the tranny would be messed up...let me know if you find out anything else
