Default Anyone used carparts.com?

Anyone know if carparts.com is legit?

I'm looking to get a 22mm Progress rear swaybar for my EP3, and found it for $94.49 shipped here. The first problem is this:
Code:
Will SHIP by 07/01
Is that July 1st, or Jan 2007? Either way, it doesn't make me feel too confident about buying from this company. So I tried asking customer support, but their contact form is broken. Tried it in Firefox and IE6. Broken. No phone numbers listed anywhere that I could find.

A bit of searching has turned up mixed reviews on this company... so has anyone here ever bought *and received* anything from carparts.com?

Icon3 Don't buy from carparts.com

So I tried buying a swaybar from carparts.com, and thought I should post the whole experience in case anyone is considering buying from them.

The first problem was that the item was listed as "will ship" in about a month. That didn't sound right, so I tried asking via the customer support form...

Second problem, the customer support form was broken. After filling in all of the info and submitting the form, I was taken to another page with a button labeled something like "Click to send email to support". Clicking the button didn't do anything. Looks like some buggy Javascript (I'm a web developer). Any good developer knows you shouldn't use Javascript for submitting forms. Oh well, shipping is free and the price is pretty good so I decided to just buy it and wait the month...

Added the swaybar to my cart and went through checkout. Entered the "Free Shipping" coupon code. The shipping price disappeared, so I entered credit card info and finished checkout...

Except the site threw this weird error, claiming that only orders of $50+ could qualify for free shipping. My total was $94 and change. I guess their programmer sucks. No big deal, there's a customer support # on the screen. They should be able to help.

A real person answered within 5 minutes, which wasn't too bad. Then the real person claimed that the item wasn't available *at all*! I was told that there is no way to buy this item, even though it's listed on the site with a price and shipping date.

I'd hate to imagine what could go wrong with shipping/returns. Looks like I'll be buying from clubrsx or corsport instead.

I work for a salvage yard, we use car-parts.com all the time to locate stuff and order it in. All the website is, is a collection of salvage yard inventories, every night it reupdates from the different yards computers.

So the site doesnt really do anything, your dealing with the salvage yards themselfs, just do some research on the salvage yard before you buy from them.

Looks like carparts.com and car-part.com are completely different.

Carparts.com is the shady one.
