am i launching too low?
i had some crappy pirelli tires on my 14's and launch with msd 2step at 3k. b16a with bolt ons in a crx. i always lose first gear than catch up in the other gears. vtec at 5100 and turns off at 4200 with vafc. tonite at the street races (just went to watch, left my car at home) i noticed people launching near 5k rpm and redlining with dohc vtec motors in coupes. is THAT the proper way to launch? one guy right when he popped the clutch engaged vtec! now i have 205/50/15 falken azenis. should i use a diff launch pill? or should i continue with the 3k launch?
I launch at around 5K......I ran a 14.8 1/4mile when I had a bone stock b16a2 in my 98 civic coupe....Si/r's in my area run 15.7's with all bolt-ons and cams!
so practice at different RPM's to find your "sweet spot" cause every bit counts with a low torque b16.
goodluck

ok, this may be a dumb question, but if you launch at 5k, how do you keep from spinning out like a ****??? Just feather the throttle?
