Default All Motor Pros I Need Input

Ok, Here is the lowdown. I have a Golden Eagle Sleeved b16 that's bored to 84.5 mm. I am going to run Eagle Rods and Wiseco Rollerwave Pistons (Endyn) that will yield approx 12.5 : 1 compression with my p28 head. I have a stock b16 crank and stock b16 length rods. My head is at Alainiz's shop. He will be blueprinting the head, cc' ing the chambers, doing a full port and polish. Basically the works. After explaining that I am running Jun3 cams, Jun 3 springs, and Skunk 2 retainer, Alainiz decided to install oversized intake and exhaust valves (nitride coated and hardened stems: He is port matching and deburring my Victor X manifold and matching it up to a 70mm BBK throttle body. I will be installing a 150 hp direct port nitrous kit as well. I will run either Hondata or Speed Pro engine management. Here is the tricky part: What kind of header, cat and exhaust should I run. This motor is going into a EG hatch. Also what kind of clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel should i run. Since I will spin the motor to around 10,000 rpm, many people have suggested an unsprung clutch. High rpm shifting and nitrous are part of the mix. I have spoken to John at Hytech. Six to Eight weeks and $1200 don't make sense to me. SMSP doesn't return phone calls, despite two messages that I have left and no one answers the phone there either. I could build a custom 2 1/2" or 3" exhaust with a hi-flow cat also. Should I start with a JDM style, or an off the shelf Spoon or Toda header. John at HYTech tells me each header is custom, but he has 20 or so designs, I don't know if I can get my money's worth since he doesn't care to even ask questions about my setup, but mentions that he needs $500 up front to begin work. Having owned a SC'd type R, I have seen 20 hp at the wheels by switching out a mugen header to a Kamikaze header and Carsound cat. I went from 182 whp to 201-202whp with no other changes. I want experienced racers to input, all you paper drag racers with butt dynos need not reply. I will be happy to post dyno numbers and details of my upcoming experience.

You ask for the opinion of all motor people and then tell us in your post that you want to run 150 shot of n2o. Let me give you atleast this advice. Your header and exhaust is the least of your worries. Your plans for the 150 shot are. Stay away from that because at that compression I am telling you, your motor will blow on the first run. As for your header question, JDM Type R header w/5Zigen Border or Miracle 2.5" should suit you fine.

before I answer your question, I want to make it clear that I'm very much "pro-HyTech" ...

anyway, you spend all that money for such a VERY NICE setup, only to cheap out on the heart of the entire system, the exhaust ... thats a nono, go with a custom header from someone who knows what he is doing. My all motor race car uses a custom HyTech exhaust, like everyone else a custom header more built for your long R/S ratio motor will make sense. $1300 is very cheap for what you are getting, take my word for it, I've spent about $40K on my racecar. And I have used every production header you can think about, in my past experience.

I am still going to run a/c, in houston, texas it is way too hot not to have a/c on a street car. As for running nos, I have forged pistons, rods, and a sleeved block. If that's not strong enough to spray 150 on, I don't know what is. AN-R header that Erick's uses won't work, I don't know about the other style. Does anybody have any experience here.

from what i understand nitrous loves high compresion. as long as its tuned and the block will handle the hp numbers theres no problem

That's a good one. Technically, all power adders love high compression, just the engine doesn't. The engine produces power via fuel combustion. All nitrous does is oxidate, it doesn't detonate the fuel. The spark still does that job(if built properly). The higher compression will yield the power production.

anywhere above 12:1 i dont think you should even think about NO^2...all a sudden, i dont think my planned 11.5:1 is high anymore.... maybe i should consider higher...?? i thought 10.5 would be perfect for nos...
...endyn forged piston would be the equavalent to the JG pistons right? forged alluminum wise...?
