Aftermarket muffler worth it?
I am putting a custom exhaust on my car and was wondering if an aftermarket muffler is worth it. Will the stock muffler restrict the air flow compared to an aftermarket muffler?
The main problem is that I dont want a loud exhaust. I am gonna run no cat but a stock muffler would really quiet things. I know it sounds funny that I want to run no cat yet have the stock muffler but like I said no cat and an aftermarket muffler would be way too loud.
I am gonna run either 2 1/4" or 2 1/2", will I be able to mount a stock muffler to the 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 piping? TIA
Any suggestions?

first off....in selecting an exhaust system there is a trade off in sound quality vs performance gains. So to answer your question, yes a stock muffler will be more restrictive when compared to somethng like Apexi N1.
I chose to go with an RS*R cause sound quality is more important to me for daily driving than gaining a few more horses. The RS*R is very quiet.
You can mount a stock muffler onto any size piping. You will need the correct transition flanges. Any muffler shop should be able to help you there.
