Default Accord 96 failure compounded by error

My driver side window wouldn't roll up (manual not power). So I try to take the door panel off (removed the bit of plastic covering the mirror, the small plug sort of thing in the upper right, the inner door handle, and both (only) 2 screws (1 in door handle, 1 in arm rest). From what I read, and could see, I removed everything I needed to.

So it's freezing outside, I'm getting impatient as I remove all the clips and was still having a bit of trouble pulling the panel off. Then I get most of the panel off, take a break, and go inside to warm up. The window closes the door. Now I can't open the door! I can't open it from the inside or from the outside! Also, I'm about 95% sure it wasn't locked before it shut.

In the visible crack I can see the metal rod moving (that connects to the inner door handle), but, I don't hear anything and the door remains shut. I'm hoping something just needs reattached since when I removed part of the door panel, maybe something got undone. I can't see well into there, I also couldn't find any pictures or diagrams of how the door opens. Is there a way to fix the opening mechanism with a hanger or something? If not, how can I get the door panel off now? Is drilling a hole the only option?

Such failure! I went to try and see if I could prop the window back up (I don't even care if it will work, it's just too cold out to have it open all the time), now I still have an open window and an immobile door.

Thanks a ton for any advice or comments.
