94 accord 5-speed problems starting
I have recently had trouble starting the car. When i press in the clutch and turn the key I get a click but the car doesn't attempt to turn over. If I keep pressing the clutch in and out it would eventually catch and start. It is at the point now that it won't catch and start at all. I am thinking it is possibly the starter or solenoid. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Try a "bypass jump" use a jumper wire from the batt. pos.(+), [or batt. terminal on starter solenoid] directly to the starter motor solenoid control terminal, [the one that unplugs] CAUTION make sure transmission is NOT in gear and set the hand brake, engine will crank even if in gear and/or ign. switch is off.
If engine cranks when doing the bypass jump, the problem is not the starter or starter solenoid, common problems are the ign. switch... http://techauto.awardspace.com/ignitionswitch.html the CIS, [clutch interlock switch] the starter cut relay, [with OEM alarm] the starter relay or the wiring between the above. 94

Since I'm new I can't post my own thred... yet, but have had a VERY similar problem with my 92 Accord DX 5 speed manual tx.
Recently had master and slave clutch cylinders replaced. Approx. 3 weeks later parked car briefly and when depressing clutch, the car would not turn over. All lights on Dash light up and I hear the relay clicking under dash at left.
Once, I depressed the clutch harder and the car started. But increasingly the car will not turn over and pushing the clutch harder does not work.
I have read posts and was about to order the clutch interrupter switch, I have the diagram. I had a mechanic friend check and he says the int. switch has continuity, and is physically working. ( I know it is the upper switch, and I know about replacing the grommet/button)
Here's the deal, every time for the last week, when the car won't start I turn off ignition, put car in reverse and roll the car backwards and then pop the clutch. Then I put car in neutral and the car STARTS.
HELP PLEASE !!!
