Default 93 oct. gas is it worth the extra money?

I have a d16y8 with i/im/h/e does it need the better fuel or am i just wasting money?

Based on those modifications it would be a waste of money. Higher octane fuel in itself doesn't increase horsepower or net better gas mileage. It allows you tune an engine or make modifications that increase cylinder pressures without the risk of detonation. Fuel with a higher octane rating burns slower which helps it to resist preignition/detonation. So unless you've made other modifications to your engine that really take advantage of the higher octane fuel, such as increase compression, timing advance or turbocharging, you're wasting money.

you really only use higher octane fuel 93+ for high compression motors to prevent premature detonation. In your case...save your money.
