Default 92 CX Fuel Pump ?

ok, on a 92 civic cx, my friend has a b16 swap in it. yesterday, the car wouldn't start a few times. you could tell it was getting plenty of spark but like it was out of gas. when you turn the ignition to on, but don't start it , sometimes you can't hear the fuel pump cut on. it has plenty of gas cause he just filled up. this should mean it's going out, correct? if it is, does this mean he needs to changeout the in-tank pump and change the fuel filter while he's at it or something else?

if u cant hear it turn on, then its on its way to the *******. swap it out for a better one. u dont have to change the fuel filter while your at it, it has nothing to do with it.

dohc vtec pumps are different from the others.

you can drop in any integra/civic pump but the dohc vtec units are more capable of handling the B16 he swapped in.

NOT trying to thread jack, but I was just searching for this......

? Is a CX stock FP capable of supplying a fully built 10.5:1 CR D16Y8? This is such a dumb question, I know. But I never really thought about it till now and I assumed all D series pumps were the same, VTEC or not? I just did this swap yesterday anyway, so it was planned to change it out this weekend.
