89 Accord LX clutch
my 89 Accord LX needs a new clutch. i have a buddy who is a certified honda mechanic, who'll do the labor for $35 an hour, and get parts at wholesale price. im j/w about how much im looking at for the work to be done? thanks guys!
your looking at around 150 in labor,...your buddy is giving you a reasonable price..he is doing it at a shop right? 35 an hour will burn a nice hole in your pocket if he's planning on doing it will simple hand tools
yeah hes got a shop at his place; lifts and all that fun stuff. ive quickly Googled the cost of a clutch kit and as far as i can see i'm looking at around 200 for parts? and ive also been poking around the forum, and it sounds like i should get the whole clutch assembly replaced, not just the plate?
You should change the pressure plate, friction disc, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing while you have it apart. You should also resurface or replace the flywheel, if possible.
