5 different ZC engines?
I tried the search and it says "zc" is too short of a word to include in the search.
there are 3 dohc zc models, one even having vtec. but im looking for information about sohc zc engines.
ive found so far that there is a black top, black crinkle top, metal top, and brown top. some are carb'd while others have pgm-fi. my friend who is telling me there are 5 different zc engines, made from 87-96, says some have a carbon monoxide sensor rather than an o2 sensor.
ive been trudging thru the internet for about an hour now. this mainly concerns a piston order. ive been told p29 pistons come in the 88-89 integra d16a1, but when i ordered that piston i received a pm7. now ive also been told that usdm zc engine codes are d16a1, a2, a5, a7, and a9.
any help would be great. thanks.

I have an OBD1 SOHC VTEC ZC engine. It is very closely related to the D16Z6. The block just says "ZC" and has a serial number under that. It has a silver valve cover with the word VTEC. The timing belt has one less tooth than the D16Z6. The engine doesn't have the oil pressure VTEC switch. The compression I'm told is 9.6 to 1, slightly higher than the D16Z6.
The only DOHC ZC engine I have ever heard of does not have VTEC and it is the same as the engine from the early Integras.

you can learn everything that you need to know there

Yeah right. Those people don't even know basic info that you can get out of a haynes manual. They don't know basic engine theory. Look at the advance ignition timing thread I was involved in.
