4puck or 6puck
wuts the difference between a 4puck and 6puck clutch, say act has the xtreme with a 4puck and a 6puck they both have the same torque rating and only cost about $20 difference(6puck being more expensive). wut is the difference in performance and quality?
4 puck has a rougher engagement. Kinda depends on your tranny also. my friend has a act 4puck in his b16 crx and it's kinda bitch to drive. chirping tires every time i take off or stalling out. But i have the same 4puck in my prelude and it's alot smoother. i'd just stick with the 6puck.
Your right you can get a rougher engagement with the 4 or 6 puck if not spring loaded if you can get either one with the springs on them(cluchmaster FX400 for ex) you will have much smoother shifts between gears... and the 6 puck would still be smoother than the 4 puck in either instants.........

i got a 6 puck ACT HD, its daily driveable.
I wouldn't go over a 6-puck if it would be used for everyday driving. 4-puck could also get premature wear if you don't take care of it while daily driving.

I've had both the ACT 4 Puck ad the 6 Puck. I like the 6 Puck better. It's easier to drive daily, and holds its own on the tracks just fine.

Yes, but why limit yourself.

I know this guy down in san jose (superior clutch) he makes clutches for some of the local shops
for daily driver you should probably get a custom full disk set up sprung hub
but he also does 4 puck, 6 puck, 3 puck (like TRD), and he has a secret 5 puck he is working on

There's also a guy local to me that runs a similar business. I ran one of his full disk setups in my last hatch and it was better than any other aftermarket clutch I've been able to find.
