My daughter's 2002 Civic w/manual trans (125k miles) has a dull thump while shifting or going over bumps. I had it into Honda over the summer for the airbag recall and they noted that the compliance bushings needed replacing which I did myself. They were cracked and mushy and I was hoping this would take care of the thump but it didn't.

She's back home for a couple days so my son and I are going to check out the motor/trans mounts and see if we can find something there.

Are there any other common points on these vehicles that should be checked that could be causing this? I'll take a poke around the ball joints but not sure if these should have expired with this amount of miles but I guess anything is possible.
