1st gen CRX with D16 VTEC (is it possible)
Here's what I got:
86 CRX HF shell
D16Z6 (minus trans)
I have these two things laying around doing nothing so I figured what the hell. I want to swap the d16 into my crx, but I don't want to spen a crap load of money. I was wondering if the engine would just "bolt" in to the chassis or if custome motor mounts were needed.
As far as the trans goes, I was thinking of using a D-series integra transmission since this can be mounted with "honda-made" mounts.(of course also replacing the knuckle/hub to fit the axel).
For all the other things like fuel delivery and ignition, I'll sort that out later. I'm really concerned about getting the powerplant in place first. Any info will help. Thanx in advance...

yes you can get it to fit easisly, my friend had one in his first gen for a while, and even turboed it. i believe you have to make a rear and drivers' side mount. sorry i can't help any more.
i don't have any specifics, here's a pic of the whooptie. go to profiles and then "hoffman"
