We're kind of having the same issue with a 96 accord. We just went and changed all the bulbs in the dash cuz a couple were out and figured do em all. well long story short now nothing light up, in the dash, running light, and the heater blows cool air. i have been on here looking for solutions for a day now and the only thing that people are saying outside of a fuse is the dimmer switch. Might have a short in it. I am going to go buy a new dimmer switch tomorrow. if that fixes the issue i'll let you know. as for to much power pull not likely i have HID's and a 2x95w 6x9 pioneer in the back a KICKER CVR 15 in the trunk pushed by a 1500 w amp no issues till i screwed with the light.

I have the same problem with my 98 Accord. No instrument and dash light. The ac/heat control works. the light indicator of the shift (P,R,N,D..) lights up, but as soon as I turn on the headlight, it goes out. There isn't a fuse for the dash light. I'm hesitating to change the dimmer switch bc it's in the instrument cluster and bc of the fact of the shift indicator light. It doesn't make sense to me.
If you guys found a solution, please repost to share, and if anyone had the same issue and found a solution, please share also. I'm so stuck and tempted to get a strip of LED light and stick it to the dash so I can see at night.

I am not sure if anyone is still interested in this, but here it goes. after changing the small light fuse on the fuse panel inside the engine compartment. we had attempted several time to get the lights to stay on. it took us a while to find the right one but it turned out that is was aground lead that had lost the bolt. Once we found that and put it all back together swapped the fuse, reconnected the battery. It all worked fine. Honestly if you take off the shroud to the steering wheel you should be able to tell if there is something wrong with the multi-function switch. If ther is not the try looking threw all you grounds. Make sure you firewall is grounded properly. Then there will be a couple in the dash. the one we found missing was the one above the stereo inside the dash.
