1979 Civic CVCC electrical problem/ignition problem/HELP Y0
OK, all the trouble I've been having and I've narrowed it down. My ignition isn't gettin enough juice when the lights are on... thats why i only have the problem at night. now, i solved this by not using my cooling fan... turned it off and i guess the current draw saved by doing that was enough... but... thats not fixing the problem. whats my first step to resolving this? the battery is a full size, not the rinkadink honda battery. alternator?

Sounds like a ground problem. Find the ground connection for the fan and you'll probably find the culprit.
i've checked the grounds and so far no better
does anyone know of a company selling alternators with higher amperage ratings for the cvcc?

That's not really fixing your problem, either. Did you check your voltage regulator? Got worn-out brushes in the alternator?

You didn't actually say what the problem is...First thing I thought when I read your post is you may have a weak ignition coil. What exactly is the problem??....3gdude
