ok. if i had 11,000 dollars to throw into my 2003 civic ex coupe. stock 127 hp. either it be turbo or swap. would it beat a 2003 wrx wagon with 11,000 dropped into it? 1/4 mile times are what im asking about.. what would be faster?

Are you honestly going to spend $11k just to beat a WRX wagon? Full on lame, dude.

Invest the money, the reason being you sound like a retard that will get a **** job and not have any kind of retirement plan, that's why you need to start investing now.

i have 3 different IRA's probly making more money than u are and im only 19. if u didnt wanna answer my question then u shouldnt have said anything. dick.

it was only a question. me and my brother had an arguement.

if i swapped a k20 in my car for around 6 k. it will be faster than his wagon. if i put another 5 k into the motor it will be alot faster than his wagon. i want to know if he put the same amount in his. would it be faster. i know my car will most likely have better top end but i wanted to know 1/4 mile times.

That really impresses us.
BTW, taken from the forum rules

"4) E-Racing/Bench Racing/Guess my 1/4 or HP
There is no place for it here, it is not productive, frequently leads to arguments, and is generally pointless. Go find a dyno or a drag strip."

Ok just to not be a dick here, I'll say this: If I were in your shoes, I would personally build the motor you have and turbo it. With $11,000 dollars you could get yourself a VERY decent turbo kit (as an estimate lets go for gold and say 3,000 for a kit) that leaves you 8,000 bucks to upgrade the pistons, rods, head, head gasket, cams everything. You could destroy a lot of things with a good setup and for that money it's fairly easy to do. No you won't be the master of all that is Civic but it could be fun.

Must be nice having a trust fund to waste on cars and the ability to look down your pointed nose at people who work for a living.

Bench racing is for ricers. Build it, race it, and then tell us how you did. Had you asked about an $11k budget for a purpose built race car and/or engine, you would've gotten completely different replies. Your post made you sound like a dipshit ricer stuck in la-la land and your other post made you sound like a daddy-built, rich kid, *****. Neither of those is going to win you any amount of respect with car guys who value hard work. Learn from this experience, it isn't just on the internet either. Act like that at a car show and/or race and you'll get the cold shoulder in a heart beat.

Berating over, how, exactly, do you plan on swapping a K20 for only $6k? Me thinks you need to research the swap a little. If you want to get right down to it. The WRX will always be faster dollar per dollar for two reasons, 1) the factory turbo which makes it faster from the start and, 2) it has AWD which means it's getting traction while you're still spinning your tires in 3rd gear. If I wanted a K20 swapped car, I'd buy a hatch with the swap already done for $7-10k then sell my other car (or keep it as a daily) and use that money to mod the K20. At that point I'd be able to live out my Paul Walker dreams of double clutching like I'm supposed to and actually having my car, while knowing all along that I won't blow the welds in my intake manifold with my three stage NOS.

im getting a k20a2 swap. i work 7 days a week with 2 jobs. tell me thats not hard work? i started my own buisness at 17. my dad doesnt talk to me so no i dont get money from him.

in a way i WAS asking what i could do to my car to make it faster than a WRX with 11,000 into it. i was looking for ideas of things to do. turbo or new motor. or what.

thanks tho. i think ill go with the k20a2 with nitrous. or i could boost it being i just saw a video of a stock k20 handling 33 psi

If you do anything you are purposing here you will destroy that car and its resale value. There will be days when the car won't start, or it will stall at random moments, why risk losing your job over some BS **** block racing? 01+ civics are not as mod friendly as the 88-00 civics. Why not pick up a 96-00 civic and do a K series swap into that? Have a daily driver AND a race car. Keep em seperate.

Good luck with that one, but wouldn't you rather have an engine that lasts longer than 3 weeks?

Paper routes, eh? The car you want to build won't be any good for doing your routes.

I really hope you're getting the point we're all trying to show you. Come down to reality and stop worrying about what the other guy's doing. Build your car to make you happy and you'll always love this hobby. Build your car to "represent Honda", beat your brother/friends/whoever's car, etc. and you will be having a "getting out of the game" sale because you'll be so frustrated with your lack of actual progress for the money spent.

People are constantly selling '92-'00 hatches that already have K20 swaps for under $10k. Buy one of those if you really want to waste your money on a Civic. Here's a thought, why not buy a '95+ BMW M3 for the same $11k and have both a faster and more classy car?

1. Leave your '03 EX alone for use as a DD

2. As 91SiZ6 also mentioned... go to hondamarketplace.com and look to buy someones turbo honda. I've seen alot of really nice setups going for 8-9K.

take your civic and sell it. take the money from the car and your 11,000 and buy a new car.

IF i were you, i'd leave the civic as is and take that 11,000 and go make some money with it. whether it be bonds, stocks, CD, or whatever will generate money for you from that 11,000.

Sell the civic, take the money from that plus the 11k and put it down on a Mitsubishi EVO 9 MR. Then tell your bro in his WRX to suck your tail pipe
