Default 1.8L to 2.0L ??

Can anyone describe to me or tell me how you increase your displacement from a 1.8 to a 2.0 ??

You have your sleeves in the block removed and install new ones with a larger bore.

Or you modify the crank shaft to increase stroke lengh.

The bore increase is the preferred method.

Increase the stroke. I personally don't like this because you get higher piston speeds, piston side loading, and less dwell. The B18 already has a shitty rod ratio of 1.58. Why make it worse? BUT, you get more torque if you stroke.

Increase the bore. I like this better. You keep your stock geometry, but get a bigger motor.

Increasing the slug on the end the rod makes the engine strain from the extra weight. You don't get as quick of a revv with the extra weight. My 2 cents...

you can put an old b20 prelude crank in and have a long stroke. thats 2.0.

Increasing the bore size does increase the weight of the piston. But this does not increase the stress on the rod as much as the increased piston acceleration and side loading that occurs when the engine is stroked.
