tein flex + edfc?
i'm thinking of getting the tein flex coilovers with edfc for my 94 prelude...does anybody have these on their car (prelude or not)?
are they any good?
are they any good?
well finally thank god... someone that has a good idea.... go for the flex. my friend has the flex in his EP with the EDFC and it kicks ***! you still need to do some more mods i.e. sway bars but other than that you will be very happy with your decision!
good luck
good luck
They are great for the street. You will be very happy when you put them on. You don't need to waste money on the EDFC. Just spend it somewhere else. My friend has the EDFC and says its not worth the money, just pop your hood and trunck and turn the *****.

depends on whether the 300 bucks it costs is worth it to you to not have to remove your backseats.
the flex's are ok, but the OE spring rates from tein kinda suck. 10kg F/6 (or 7)kg R.
for a prelude, i'd skip the EDFC. get a progress adj rear sway instead.

not too soft, but poorly matched spring rates. for an integra, its like 9k/4k. very stiff up front, and kinda soft in the rear. makes the understeering problem a FWD car inherently has worse. and the 16 adjustments aren't all that usable. I found that I was stuck in a much smaller range of clicks that were usable without the car getting too bouncy.

Thanks for the information, so getting some stiffer rear springs and revalving wouldn't hurt then? I have the teins and being my car is multipurpose, dailey,
open track days, drag.....the flex fit me the best, I haven't had them on the road
course yet so I didn't know what to expect. Anyone else?

i would definitely go with new springs. how stiff is up to you, i've got 450/550 on my car, but my car weighs 300 lbs more than a dc2 so, my wheel rate isn't so high.
i would think something around 7k front 9k rear would be ok, whether you need to revalve the rear dampers to put the 9k front springs on the rear, i don't know.

stiffer springs would definately help, but tein only recommends up to a +2k increase before revalving. so you could run 9k/6k and still be withing tein's specs. you could go a little softer up front for a better f/r ratio, but then you will bottom out the shock a lot easier. The flex's really didn't have much overall travel, and bottoming was an issue for me on some of the tighter corners.
and if you need revalving, you might want to consider a set of konis and ground controls with the exact spring rates you want to run. the damping curves on the konis are also more street friendly, and will ride smoother, even on stiffer spring and damping rates.
