I bought myself a set of used Konis and they still work good until recently.....I think. Well no matter what the setting is I find the front struts keep getting softer. I realize that the **** on the strut keeps popping up. Is this normal? If I press it down the suspension gets stiffer again but after a while and hitting a few bumps they get soft again and sure enough the **** pushes up again. My rears doesn't do this.

So anyone knows what is going on or is it normal?

Also how much do you tighten the nutz down? I just kepting tighting the first nut until it got hard but it still kept going but harder and harder. I stopped after a while and just use the other nut to lock it in place. (see pic 2).

don't think it matters but the first pic shows a nut that doesn't look like it belongs - also the first pic shows that the area seems moist.. might just be the pic though.

Isn't that c-shaped washer that is right below the two nuts upside down? I thought it was supposed to sit like \___/

it is supposed to fit like a cup.

wtf is up with that first pic? couldnt find the right washer?? i dont get it...

how about calling koni for customer service...?

About the ****, does your sit flush or raise like in pic 1???

 

my adjuster pops up like that on two of my shocks, one seeps which is normal per 'crx lee' @koni. I dont notice a diff with it up or down. the adjuster works just fine on either shock.

the seeping is because sometimes when they are rebuilt (mine are rebuilt with spss valving) the little tiny seals that seal the adjuster rod get slightly misaligned or nicked ever so slightly to allow oil to seep but not cause a blown shock effect.
