D2 coilover blown?
So ive had my D2 coilovers for two weeks slammed .. today i heard some metal on metal action from my driver brake so i take tire off and find a oily substance everywhere in fender well.. originally i thought it was brake fluid until i saw it all over my coilover.. i took it out and it just compresses with barely any pressure and sounds horrible.. i realized that it was probably my fault since on that coilover i raised the spring (which i think it says not to do) trying to make it stiffer.. i had the stiffness all the way with the adjuster but there was a weld in my fender with metal pointing down that ate through my fender lining and almost popped my tire.. so i bent that up and tried to make the coilover stiffer and 24 hrs after doing that im pretty sure i blew my coilover..
just wondering on if you think it was my fault or any input appreciated..

Here's a tip for you guys in America who just discovered D2. Their full coilovers are not of the best quality in my opinion. They were quite popular in New Zealand as they are cheap and have been around for a couple of years now. I definetly wouldn't call them reliable, would stay clear of them considering there are better options out there for the same price. Have had many mates end up with leaky shocks that end up needing to be replaced
had mine for 5 months so far...slammed all the time...to the stiffest...sucks for you. lol. i was gonna try to do the same and raise my pre-load. looks like i wont be touching that now. lol.
BTW, how much did you go up anyways?
