bushing replacements
Hey guys and gals, I have an '89 Civic Im thinking about redoing the entire suspension on this summer. And when I say entire suspension I do mean entirely. What im trying to decide on is the brand of replacement bushings Ill employ the use of. Right now Im leaning towards Energy Suspension's Complete Set.
My question is this: How much different will the feel be with the car. From just thinking, and plotting, I can imagine it would feel a lot more connected to the road, and be significantly more responsive. especially since my car has had the stock bushings on it for around 320,000 miles of use. Thanks for your responses eveyrone. I appreciate it.

Yes you will feel very connected to the road but you'll also feel every little bump in the road too. I didn't like the ride of my car when I put in the poly bushings. Then again it's my daily driver too.
First of all, if you're set on doing the "entire suspension" you're going to fall very short if you use the ES kit. It is missing quite a few bushings that might seriously need replacing in your car of 320K miles.
The difference between old, busted OEM bushings and fresh OEM bushings is huge and I would consider using OEM in several places over the ES bushings. I'm not really a fan of poly bushings to be used as a replacement for every bushing on your car. I think rubber, and sometimes metal, works better for some applications. If this is a daily driver, don't forget that poly bushings aren't "install and forget" items and can be a headache if you don't keep on top of them as far as cleaning and lube. Rubber, especially OEM, is far easier to live with.
But compared to your 320K bushings, the difference will be significant no matter what you use to replace them.
