jdm b16 has been dying but finally died all the way today help!!!!!
I have a jdm b16 in my 90 crx and sometimes when i start it up it will just die for no reason......when it is cold i have to manually hold the gas to rev it up to 2500 rpm to keep it running if it idles down it will idle for a few seconds then die.....it always dies when it is idling never when gas is applied the idle is fine at the rpm its at around 900 rpm....doesnt do it all the time.....i put a new cap and rotor on it and drove it around for a few....then stop at a stop sign and it died but this time it will not crank back up......i can hear the fuel pump and i have spark---a yellow blue spark.....but still will not start anyone else have this problem????? all fuses are good????? please help......another thing to add is car ran good for 2 month after swap now this problem has been happening more and more and now it just died completely----distribitor is turning so belt isnt broken.....help
another thing to add just to help analyze is that what ever this is was coming slowly more and more it would just die sometimes anywhere but would fire right back up this time it didnt and it is still dead.....help
spark, compression, fuel.
Do a compression check next
If you do get it running again, check the radiator for bubbles (sure sign of blown head gasket)
I had a problem with the Igniter unit in my distributor, had to re-sauter it.
Check those fuel injectors and injector wiring. It can easily be disturbed get disconnected.
