Default Anybody wanna know how much a 1000hp ecotec costs?

Complete Race preped block including aftermarket sleeves, main studs, and cylinder head studs.......$2904.45

Machined and CNC ported cylinder head w/out valvetrain......$1316.91

Billet steel crankshaft with 3.505 stroke.....$3740

Billet steet connecting rod set with bolts....1062.50

That is just a start. All prices are dealer cost not retail. I am still workin on the rest of the parts needed.

here is a comparison:

- gsr block with aftermarket sleeves, main caps, arp head studs and main studs - $1500 estimate

- b16 or gsr head with full port and polish w/out valvetrain - $1200

- stock gsr crankshaft - $200

- carillo rods - $750

those prices fair?

gives you an idea i guess

i factored in the price of the core in my estimates from first hand experience

ie, $2-300 for bare b16 head, $200-300 for bare gsr block to send out, etc

500 bare block
500 bare head
1000 sleeves
200 studs

thats only 2200 bucks which is paying good money for bare parts.
Not that the other is a bad price, but I dont think its cheap.

just gotta jump on the deals when you find them - i have 2 heads and 2 blocks this year that i got for about those prices - and i have them sitting here ready to go when i need to use them

i am actually interested in seeing some of the other parts that are used in those engines and the prices on them

we made really good power on our engine right out of the box and none of us involved in the project had first hand experience with anything over 400 hp really so, granted we aren't making 1k hp, but 730 hp on c16 is respectable for basically throwing some parts together - i would like to see what other parts are used in the engine combinations and the prices to basically compare against our setup

The GM prices are for brand new stuff..not used crap,If you go new the GSR block is about $1500 before you install sleeves and the Head is $1000 before porting work..

And the MAJOR point that you guys are missing is that this is a 1000 hp motor - not a 500-650 hp motor like you guys are talking prices on for the Honda..

The Ecotec prices are GREAT for HUGE power like that.
