GSR died, HELP!!!!
i have a 93 gsr, ive been having intermittent problems with the car dying and not starting, or just not starting. i can hear the fuel pump run so im pretty sure its not that. i called andy at AH motorsport and he said 2 things came to his head, an igniter, or a main relay. the fuel pump is running so im pretty sure its not the relay. i have the brown (updated) igniter and there are 134K on the car. the car usually only dies after it warms up and when it is idling, then it wont start unless sometimes i can get it started with a fast kick start. im pretty sure the starter is going out because there is a delay from when the key is turned to when the car turns over, and sometimes it doesnt turn over at all, just clicks. if i had a bad ignition switch could that cause intermittent stalling?? the car is dead in a parking lot right now until i can either get it started or tow it back home. any suggestions are much appreciated. thanks!!
A flaky ignition switch can cause that, or either of the 2 things A&H said...
Next time it happens, you could check for spark... If you don't have spark, that kinda suggests ignition switch or ignitor. A flaky ignition switch might respond to you wiggling the key or pushing it one way or another.
