Default Distributor Question

Hello everyone. My wife has a 1990 Accord EX and the distributor is bad. I have changed to new spark plugs, wires, caps, rotor, coil and ignitor but there are still no sparks . So I just returned the parts back (except the wires and plugs).

A friend of mine told me that the distributor is bad. I am in search of a cheap one and if you guys know where I can find the complete assembly I would really appreciate it.

I found one on E-Bay but it is for a 1991 Accord EX (rebuilt) for $75. Does anybody know if they will work on a 1990 EX model? I only have $150 to throw on this one. Thanks in advance for any input.

It should work. 90 and 91 models were identicle. All 4th gen accords have distributor problems including mine that causes a rough idle at lower rpm and vibration. As Dave (4doorh22) will tell you, there was a recall on these distributors but I dont know how to go about that.
When you say there is no spark, do you mean the car isnt starting at all? If you properly replaced all that, than the distributor is not your problem.
I bought Bosch Platinum +4 plugs and they slightly improved the vibration and rough idle. I suggest that to anyone else with this problem.

Recall eh'? Did'nt know that. but I'll check. Thanks for the info. The car sometimes starts but misfires and turns off. I took the 1 sequence wire oud and did a crank test against the head to see if there is any spark but no luck. I don't understand why sometimes it has sparks but and sometimes does not. When I tried to replace the ignitor and the coil it still did not work. Anyways, thanks again.

it's hard to say exactly what is wrong...since u tried everything else like u said. I would get a manual from a parts store and go through some of the checks they give you. I would check and make sure u have power goin to the coil and then go from there. Also, check and see if you have any trouble codes. U can do this by either a l.e.d. on the computer or a jumper wire near the computer....i can't remember, but i can check if u want.....good luck!
