Default Aftermarket Suspension on the Track?

I currently have Tein Ha coilovers in my car along with front and rear strut tower bars. I have not raced on the track yet, but I was wondering if you guys with similar setups that race on the track have noticed a big advantage over stock R setups.

it works well, but honestly the most difference ive seen was when i installed a cage in my car. i havea full track car and the tein HAs are fine. better than stock, but still a little too soft for my tastes.

I had the HA's on my car when I ran at TWS, the car handled really well, but after the weekend was over I realized that my friend on stock suspension did really well too. I'd say I pass him as much as he passed me and I don't think I had too much of an advantage over him just because I was running HA's. I really liked that I could stiffen the rear with the HA's but even though I had the rears all the way stiff, on the track it just didn't feel stiff enough, probably the spring rates though.

Although I like my HA's a lot, I didn't see myself running those if I planned to get real serious in roadracing/autoX-ing. Zeal comes to mind, maybe Mugen.

I just bought the Mugen "lowdown suspension" for my ITR a few months ago. I track the car about 3-4 times a year. The Mugen suspension is great and I am VERY pleased with its performance on the track. I also purchased the 26mm rear sway bar at the same time. The suspension lowered the car very little, ~3/4", but the ride much more aggressive than stock. I have dialed in the shocks as follows, fr.-2 and rear-5. This set-up gives the car no understeer and the car WILL rotate if not careful, keep the throttle down but otherwise it is a very neutral handling car. I would have to say the suspension improved the track driving by 100%. The stock suspension is great already but the new suspension really takes out the roll and float through the high speed S-turns.

I've got the Tein HA's and also tracked my car. I felt the ride was great and probably better than stock. I really couldn't tell b/c with stock suspension, I ran stock rubber. With HA susp. I ran A032Rs.

As for being too soft, nonsense. I had to soften the dampening for I was bouncing roughly through the high speed sweepers at pocono.

I think my dampening settings are different than everyone elses.

I'll post my reasons in a separate thread.
