is it normal that 3rd gear is hard to get into when drag racing? when i drive normal its regular but when rev high...i would have to push really hard into 3rd to make it go in gear....a lot of times miss shifts happens...i have a type r tranny on my gsr teg....thanks

 

welcome to the club. I got the same problem on my LS engine and LS tranny

i lost 1st place in a bracket drag competition cause i missed 3rd gear.... some non turbo rx7 ended up winning.

 

the syncros are going bad. try changing the fluid out with redline or gm syncromesh, that might help some. other that that, the only solution is a rebuild.
