91 Civic DX woes/New member
Greetings members, I am a newbie to the Honda Cult, and really look forward to getting to know these machines better.
My name is Kevin and I own and operate Images Auto Club in South Florida, mostof my customers are in the Caribbean/South America area and we do everything from Turbo Geos to 7 second big block Camaros. Despite doing all this the most I have ever done to a Honda is sell parts, never owned one in the 27+ cars I have had and have never even did an oil change on one. Enter $2/gal gas prices and here I come with my tail between my legs to the Honda crew.
Anyhow, on to the problem.
was given a 91 DX( single cam dual point FI) that had a rebuild a year ago, just died one day according to owner, did my checks, found no spark and traced it to the igniter. replaced the whole dist and got it started, however the idle is extermely high(2000 or so). it occassionally dips down but surges right back up. Owner had a stack of ECU's in the trunk that he was "trying" not sure which is for the car anymore. No engine light when running, so I assume all is well with the ECU. Can some one point me in a direction to get this thing to calm down a little bit ? I got the Haynes manual but it really does not help much.
Also, feel free to email me with parts request, I'll be happy to help you guys out with performance/aftermarket/body/OEM parts if I can.
thank you

more than likely the EACV (Electronic Air Control Valve) - on top of intake manifold on driver's side next to throttle body - try taking it off and cleaning it real well with carb cleaner
