Default New to Honda

What's up. I just bought a 2004 Civic EX and can't wait to start working on it. I'm coming from a lowrider mini truck background, but thought creating an import compact would be fun. One thing I noticed, it doesn't look like there's much available for the 04's. Anyone have any tips to get started?

maybe thats cuz where stil in 04. but it depends what u wanna do with your new ride. n00bs always start with an intake and headers. u could go turbo or even get a swap, which is a lot of money, just dont go rice. if u do then do post it or youll get flamed forever and youll feel like an idiot

correct, not many mods you can do to the 04's so far. just start out with a decent suspension. ground control adjustable springs and koni yellow struts are a good start. After that get you a nice pair of 15-16" wheels and wrap them up in some Falken Azenis, get your basic bolt ons (header, intake, exhaust) OR save up for a k20 engine swap

Welcome, PLEASE don't go rice, unless you got a bad *** B, H, or K series to cook that rice with . I think its more of a sleeper if its a fast *** ricer, because you would think the guy was a joke...till you hit the gas. then you would be like(as he pulls on your) ....damn, thats still an ugly car.

you got a D series...they dont respond too well to bolton's....so save the 200 for header, the 30-100 for a CAI, and a lil more...piece together a nice FI(forced induction) system. all new ex's have IVTEC , right or wrong? I dont really like anything thats newer than a 00, i just think the body is ugly (IMO)

good luck though man, have fun...

You've got enough money to scoff at $7,000 yet you bought a 2004 Civic as your virgin import undertaking? Jesus. If that's the case maybe you should ditch the Civic coup, grab an EP hatchback and put a turbocharged K20A in it. No trouble with that swap and it'll be faster and less expensive than your current one.

Mini Accord... heh, that's about right. I'm thinking of bolting on a set of 17's with a 225 / 40 this weekend. Anyone know of any post-lowering clearance problems with a 225?

So, a 205 / 45 17 is good. That should only throw off the speedo .1 MPH @ 60. Sounds good to me.

I think the 01-up civics look good with 17's.

All I have to say is if you're going to lower it then do it right. There's a bronze/goldish color 04 civic in Palmdale. I see all the time and it has a horrible setup. The car can't drive over a penny without the car wanting to do a backflip. If it was me I would just keep the stock look, lower it, go with rims, get a nice exhaust and swap for a K series motor sometime in the future.

Alright... I think you've talked me into a nice 205/50 on a 16 inch rim. I guess the tires will be cheaper to smoke off the rims, anyway.
