$450 for SRJC d16 good deal?

Default $450 for SRJC d16 good deal?

someone is selling a
JDM D-16 with Jackson racing supercharger,transmission, wiring harness with ecu computer for $1,200.00

and i offer him 450$ for the supercharger and he said i can pick it up tomorrow....complete...what do you guys thing? how BAD can BAD be for a SC?? like..rebuildable??

sounds like a good deal to me. I think it is bearings that can go bad in SC's.

LOL...no thanks i think ill keep it if its good...but anyone know what i should look at on the SC? please include the location of the "device"

Regardless of what condition it looks like it's in, you should have it sent off to be serviced by Jackson or Magnuson. It'll be about $600 for a complete rebuild. This way you'll have peace of mind knowing that it has completely new internals and in the end you only paid $1050 for what is basically brand new blower.

Just a side note: I just had mine rebuilt and everything's great. A friend of mine had his rebuilt around a month later and it locked up on him after 750 miles of use. It was making a strange sound as soon as it was installed and was sucking air through the nose cone. So, if you have it rebuilt and things don't sound right once you install it, take it off immediately and send it back. More than likely everything will be ok, though. Good luck!
